These are the great visionaries who had the insight and they believed that unless and until we open the channels of education from pre-primary to higher level, the light of knowledge will not reach to the doors of the masses in the villages of Nashik district. The followers of this tradition Karmveer Raosaheb Thorat, Karmveer Ganpatdada More, D.R. Bhosale and others took inspiration and initiated the task of spreading education and established ‘Udoji Maratha Hostel’ in 1914. It was a sign of new beginning in the world of ignorance of the Bahujan.
- It was 1913, that All India Maratha Education Conference was organized in Nashik, where His Highness Shreemant Udojirao Pawar of Dhar Residency donated Rs. 10,000/-. It strengthened the very foundation of the Institution. In order to get the stability to the work of the Institution, His Highness started a grant of Rs. 2,000/- per annum. Rajarshee Shahu Maharaj gave Rs.15, 000/-, Shreemant Sayajirao Gaikwad Maharaj contributed Rs.12,000/-, His Highness Shreemant Madhavrao Maharaj of Gwalior Residency also gave the share in the form of Rs. 10,000/-, then Industrialist Pandurang Javaji Chaudhari of Bombay had contributed Rs. 3,000/-. These money is a part of blessings and well wishes for the Institution in the form of donations so as to enable the Institution to expand its educational work. “Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya” – for the welfare and happiness of the common masses is the motto of the Institution. To follow this motto, the social workers like Shankarrao Kadam Kanaladkar, Bhausaheb Hiray, Kakasaheb Wagh, Annasaheb Murkute came forward. The institution gained name and fame in a short time due to well organized and disciplined planning. Since various donors and social workers belonging to various places generously helped. The institution was established as a small plant has been blooming till today.
- MVP Samaj has established 413 educational & professional institutions. The spectrum of education institution encompasses Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Graduate & Postgraduate Colleges, Professional & Vocational Colleges. The total strength of students is over 10,00,000
- The year 1964 was celebrated as the Golden Jubilee year. Recently the year 2014 was celebrated as the centenary. The qualitative and quantitative development of the Institution is astonishing. The contribution and devotion of ex-officious and in-officious as well as the members of the Managing Council have made this possible.
- The Government of Maharashtra felicitated the Institution by giving State Award to honour its educational and social work. Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik has praised the institution by giving ‘Punjabrao Deshmukh Award.’ Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj had organized 78th Akhil Bartiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan in KTHM College Campus in jan 2005. Most of the colleges of the parent institute has acquired excellence in their field and also achieved various awards and honors.
